George And Sandra in Sonoma!

Saturday I had the pleasure of shooting a fun wedding in Sonoma! Now, first of all, I just love wine country...it's beautiful and relaxed and quaint and fun. Secondly, Sandra and George have an amazing group of family and friends who made me feel like I'd known them forever! And of course, Sandra and George are beautiful, vibrant, sweet, and fun! I couldn't ask for a better combination. :)

My favorites are in their slideshow!

She has beautiful eyes!

She had a very talented hair stylist/makeup artist!

Her amazing dress was custom made to be everything she ever wanted.

We took some fun portraits before heading over to the church.

The wedding was at a beautiful Catholic church, and the priest made the ceremony really sweet!

I loved this moment right after the ceremony...I think they just realized they were married!

A couple of sweet portraits in vineyards at Rodney Strong winery.

The bride's nephews were so cute, and this one posed for the camera!

A sweet moment from the first dance...

Thanks so much to Sandra and George and all your wonderful family and friends! I had an amazing time, and I loved capturing your wedding. Enjoy your honeymoon in Maui!

OH MY GOODNESS: I HAD COMMENTS!

So, despite the fact that I am a Software Engineer, I can be pretty ditzy when it comes to my own site! For the longest time I thought that no one every said anything on my blog. And then tonight someone flat out *told* me they did. So I went looking for it.....

and i found 33!!! 33 comments I never knew about. ;) I feel pretty silly, and very loved all at the same time. So thank you everyone who left comments, I am having a lot of fun looking over all my old posts and seeing what very nice things you have said.

Seriously, it really made my day (but it should have been making my day for the past month)!

THANKS!! :)

Beautiful Menlo Park Wedding!

Wednesday I left for Texas rather suddenly, due to a critical family emergency. My clients and their weddings are so very important to me, but nothing is more important than family. Before I left I secured a wonderful back-up photographer in case I was not able to return on time. We were incredibly blessed that Jennifer came through her third surgery well, and we are even hoping that she'll be home from the hospital by Christmas! All of this was a great relief, in part because I felt comfortable traveling back to California for a gorgeous Menlo Park wedding. :)

Tim and Michelle were married at the Allied Arts Guild, a quaint little village of shops, a restaurant, beautiful gardens, and artist studios. All of the proceeds go to the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. What a gorgeous location! Of course, the bride was prettier. :)

Check out their wonderful slideshow!

The day started with Michelle getting "glitzie" at the salon...

I just love shoes!

What a perfect dress...

The groom giving last minute directions!

They got the idea for the ring bearer's "pillow" from my sister's bridal portraits! I especially love it because the nest is such a symbol of new life. :)

A little mischief in the garden...

The bridesmaids fixing Michelle's dress right before...

We're Married!!

Lucious cake...

A sweet moment...

Lisa & Mike are Mr. & Mrs!

Well, despite the yucky weather we've been having lately, the sun came out just for Lisa & Mike's beautiful garden wedding in the Wilhelmina Gardens in Golden Gate park. Wow! The scenery is awesome and the whole area is shaded by an enourmous old-fashioned dutch windmill. It was a beautiful & intimate wedding and reception, attended by close family and friends, some of the nicest people I have ever met!

Check out the fun slideshow!

she's just gorgeous:

near the end of the ceremony, they jumped the gun and went in for a kiss!

after the ceremony, a friend sang their song for them:

Congratulations & Best Wishes in your new life!

James & Bonnie E - Session

I don't normally shoot Monday nights, but I just couldn't say no to Bonnie when she called! I'm so glad I didn't, I met her and James in Half Moon Bay and we took a little drive to the beach where we caught a really gorgeous sunset.

James and Bonnie will be getting married in Florida, which is a bummer cause I won't be shooting their beautiful beach wedding. Whoever the lucky photographer is, you're going to have an awesome time!

Wild In Downtown!

Saturday evening I headed back to my favorite shooting ground to meet up with Erikka, an awesome young comedian in the bay area. She wanted photos that were different. :)

I can do different! I knew we were going to try some neat and comical outfits...but a cat suit? I seriously had my doubts but she ROCKED it! seriously.....a CAT suit!

Tim & Michelle, E-Session

Sunday night I hopped in the car with Tim and Michelle and we went on a little photo-adventure! We headed to a pumpkin patch, a park, a cool spot in downtown Mountain View, and a super fun playground with a swingset. I normally stick to the downtown scene cause I'm really an urban-girl....but I LOVE stretching myself to do something different.

Michelle has such an incredible smile! Of course, it helps that she has such a great guy to smile about. ;) Tim is currently working with me to design a brand new...super awesome...Jillian Kay Photography website. I am soooo excited!

In fact, I almost didn't quite know whether to be more excited about the new website, or Tim & Michelle's wedding next month. After chatting about the details in the car...I'm definitely more excited about the wedding. :)

Here's the fun fun slideshow!

Corinne & Tanya Hit the City Streets

i'm not quite yet rich and famous, so currently I rent a room in a house with 3 other roommies. now the house itself is old, 70's funk, and a little yucky. our landlord and the leasing company are in some sort of dispute, so the place hasn't had new paint or carpet in forever! BUT...I love my roommates, and the place has a built in bar for parties, so it's worth putting up with a few stains. :)

A week and a half ago, I had the pleasure of taking one of my roommies Corinne & friend Tanya out for a photo shoot! It was a BLAST. The abosolute funniest moment happened when Corinne put on the marilyn monroe dress...and it actually flew up over her head. I have a picture....but I'm not going to put it on the internet!!

Anyway, thanks gals for coming out with me, and for taking me to dinner afterwards! It was awesome to have a night out with the girls for once. :)

Here is your AWESOME SLIDESHOW, and a handful of my fav's:

Sandra & George - Engagement Session

Monday night I headed into San Francisco for a super fun engagement shoot with gorgeous a couple! Since they live in Texas, I haven't seen Sandra and George since we met at a Sonoma winery earlier this year. I sent her a link to the photos of my trip....and the rest is history. I'll be shooting their amazing Somona wedding in October and I can't wait!

Check out the slideshow to see how much fun we had!

Oh, and I'm excited to get to use a new song from a very talented musician, Jake Bouma! I expect that we'll be hearing his songs on the radio in the future, but for now you'll have to settle for hearing "Stuck" on my slideshow! It's been stuck in my head for days. :)

Mr & Mrs Kendall!!

Sunday afternoon Bridgit and Chris took the big plunge! I was so excited to get to know both of them along with their friends and family. This was one fun group! But you can find that out for yourself with the slideshow!!

The church had a great big sanctuary with tall windows along the aisles. At the very front of the church was a huge, beautifully lit cross, which shown more brightly and clearly than anything else. During the special music in the ceremony I could just barely make out Bridgit mouthing the words "stop that!" and trying not to giggle....turns out Chris was dancing for his bride. :)

At the reception, they had an adorable orange & white cake with a bow and beadings around the edge...but each table had it's very own super cute cake with an edible bow on top! Each one had a unique flavor and style...what a cool table center-piece! Our table had carrot cake with cream cheese icing and a yellow bow...sooooooo delicious.
