Carlos and Alicia Got Married!

Saturday afternoon, Carlos and Alicia became Mr & Mrs! I had the emense pleasure of photographing the event. The wedding was held at a beautiful mansion on Mare Island, in a beautiful yard overlooking this pretty garden.

Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your day, everything was just beautiful and wish you all the happiness in the world!

Chris & Bridgit E-Session

E-sessions are so much fun! Engagement sessions are a great chance for me to meet with a bride and groom before the wedding so that we can get to know each other! I get a feel for their style, their comfort level, their personalities....all of which make the wedding day go much much smoother.

Oh...and as an awesome side effect, the couple gets some really sweet photos that show off how in love they are! Bridgit and Chris were no exception...these two are a lot of fun and they both have great smiles!!

Monika

Last Saturday night I got to photograph an awesome model, Monika, in downtown Mountain View with a wonderful photographer named Juliet (http://blog.julietnicole.com/). Monika has these electric blue eyes that are just captivating!! My favorites are below.

In other news, I am on a 3 week school break! Thats great, because the next few weeks are going to be very exciting and busy for Jillian Kay Photography....so no school means I actually get to sleep! :) I'll keep you updated, of course.

Last Sunday night I had the pleasure of doing an Engagement shoot with Alicia and Carlos. We had a fun time wandering the streets of San Jose. This couple was so sweet, and I just can't wait for their wedding in a couple weeks!!

Friday I had the opportunity to do a fun photoshoot with Katherine! She has absolutely the most amazing green eyes...and freckles! Gotta be jealous of those shoes (well, the ladies at least...you guys can just keep looking at those eyes!)














































Sorry it's taken all week to get these out...school's been rough lately! Everyone hang in there...I'll be posting much more during my 3 week break in August.

Engagement Session in Oakland!

On Sunday night I had an absolute blast shooting Lisa & Mike! How can you possible take a bad photo of such good looking people? And they just laughed and smiled the whole time, which really makes my job easy. :) Oh, and check out her gorgeous ring!

Jezreel's Awesome Session

So it's been a very busy week for Jillian Kay Photography! Between my new logo, a new online ordering tool, specialized greeting cards, and two photoshoots.....well there's certainly no shortage of things to do! One of the highlights of the weekend was a great photoshoot with Jezreel!

Jezreel is 11 years old, and would love to venture into acting...theatre, movies, tv, commercials, you name it! Her older sister, Rachel, had a photoshoot with me just a few weeks ago and contacted me about doing a session for Jez, too!

Jezreel brought her mom, both of her sisters, and a cousin...so the 6 of us girlies went on a fun photo adventure in downtown San Jose! This is one awesome family. :)

Cards with a Personal Touch

I come from a very creative family. Until a few years ago, when I discovered a love for photography, I honestly thought I was the only uncreative one! One great example is my mother, who has always been very talented at crafts and interior decor.

A couple years ago she took up scrapbooking, but really took it in a different direction. Her favorite thing to make is greeting cards! She creates these absolutely fabulous cards that are unique and beautiful....I just can't describe!

Well, rather than let her horde them all at her house, I've requested a special batch just for me. I'll post a picture of the first shipment I've received when I get a chance, and I'll be sending them out! How neat it that!?

New Logo!

I have a new logo! Thanks to Shaun of http://www.clearfocusdesigns.com I've got a brand spanking new brand. :) I'm so excited!

expect to be seeing this icon a lot more from now on...I'm just going to get it tatooed on my body. :)

3rd Shooter @ Beautiful Wedding!

This past Saturday I had the wonderful opportunity to get my feet wet in weddings. And with a little toe dipping...I know I really can't wait to dive deep! I was the third shooter to Gina and Rudi, a wonderful husband & wife team who do really exquisite, artistic work. I was there just for the reception, and will most likely be working with them at more receptions this year. I'm so excited, what a great way to learn!
